Was researching today's lecture on online identities and got caught up in watching clips of Harlan Ellison which are always fun and get the creative juices flowing. Wiki entry here

Newcastle.
Was away for a week for mam's birthday, where we went to the lovely Newcastle in Northern Ireland:
Funland, it's a whole lot of fun where prizes will be (not) won...
We were in the Slieve Donard hotel a pretty famous place, they've named a bar there after Charlie Chaplin but this artifact that explains that he was only in Northern Ireland to search for the family of his 15 year old lover, as you do, so this is like some sort of historical child sex offenders register. There's also loads of stuff there about Percy French when will we get a Percy Sledge bar?
a lovely pint of Bass at about 3am, the trademark all makes sense now, as Bass one of the first trademarks this is research work and fun...
here we all are, happy birthday mam!

The DC Vault
Another highlight of going home was getting to the Belfast Forbidden Planet which is a 'forbidden planet international' store so it meant that I could finally spend a 20 pound voucher my wee sister Katie gave me ages ago, and what better thing to spend it on than Martin Pasko and Paul Levitz's The DC Vault for only 23.99, the Marvel vault still costs about 30 quid!. Good review of it here.
If you like action then maybe you'll like 'double action'!
Like most aging comic fans, nothing is better than getting a big deluxe hardback style doohicky like this to enjoy
